Martha Anne (Remington) Panetta

Martha Anne (Remington) Panetta, 87, passed away unexpectedly, at her home, Friday, June 23, 2023.

Martha was born in Utica, April 17, 1936, a daughter of the late Mark Edward and Isabelle Flora (Jennings) Remington, and was educated locally, graduating from UFA in 1954. On May 28, 1955, Martha was wed to Martin Panetta, and the couple have enjoyed over 68 years of loving marriage.

A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Martha is survived by her beloved husband, Marty; her children, Richard Panetta and Raymond Alessandrini, and Jacqueline and John Colon; daughter-in-law, Gail Panetta; her daughter Susan’s partner, Connie Everetts; grandchildren, Nicole Panetta, Colin Panetta and Jenn Harr, and Brittany and Jessica Panetta; step-granddaughter, Lisa Wilcox; great grandchildren, Madison, Isaac, Adrian, Riley, Christopher, Tommy, and Derek; brother and sister-in-law, John and Patricia Remington, brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Robert and Sina Panetta, and Marie Panetta; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Martha was predeceased by her son, Thomas; and her daughter, Susan.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, June 29, at 10 a.m., at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish. The family will greet visitors at the conclusion of mass. Interment will be in Frankfort Center Cemetery.
