Martin Baris Obituary

Martin Thomas Baris, 70, passed away on January 25, 2021, in his home in Arlington, VA.

The son of the late Thomas William Baris and Angeline Capotorto Baris, he was born on December 12, 1950, in Utica, NY. He grew up in East Utica, where he attended St. Anthony of Padua Parish and St. Anthony School.

He graduated from T.R. Proctor High School in 1968 and went on to earn a degree from Binghamton University in 1972, and then studied at the Upstate Technical College. He has lived in Arlington for nearly 40 years where he worked as a Computer Programmer before retiring several years ago.

He enjoyed travel and was an avid reader, lover of music and fan of his adopted team, the Washington Nationals.

He is survived by his brother, Michael Baris, niece, Mackenzie Baris and two great-nephews in Washington, DC; his brother, Thomas Baris, of Utica; and many cousins.He was predeceased by his brother, John Baris, of Utica.
