Matthew Singe Obituary

Matthew Thomas Singe, 39, passed away unexpectedly, August 7, 2022, at his home, in Rochester, NY. He was born July 30, 1983.

Matthew’s life would seem too short to many, but those who have had the opportunity to know him understand that Matthew felt that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives.

Matt lived true to this sentiment through his profound appreciation for nature, sunrises, sunsets, travel, live sports, concerts, and comedy. He loved to visit out west to spend time with his closest friends, hiking and exploring all that California, Washington, Arizona, Colorado, and Oregon had to offer. He found the most happiness at any live event, like when he and his dad would travel each year to see his favorite teams (Notre Dame, Raiders, Bills, Yankees), when he was able to see his favorite band, Pearl Jam, or when he was able to run his successful business, Mr. Squeeze Lemonade. Always looking for a way to remember his happiest moments, Matt was an avid collector of sports and entertainment memorabilia.

But above all else, Matt loved and cherished one thing the most: family. Family meant everything to him, and he never missed an opportunity for quality time with his dad, mom, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He especially loved traveling to Utica to watch Notre Dame games with his mom and Poppi.

A quick phone call would turn into three hours - talking about anything and everything. That’s how easy it was to pass time with him. Always using his unique sense of humor to make a joke or share a funny story, you couldn’t help but laugh and smile in his presence. Smart, well-spoken, quick-witted, and intuitive, Matt had an opinion on everything, and he wasn’t shy to share it.

Always having an entrepreneurial mind, he was creative and artistic, and he saw the small details that most would overlook. Just taking a quick picture was a production to get the right lighting, angle, backdrop, and expression.

A kind and empathetic soul, with a huge heart ready to help anyone in need, Matt will be forever missed and forever in our hearts.

Matthew is survived by his father, Thomas Singe; mother and step-father, Josette (Sardelli) and Gary Mousso; step grandparents, Gerald and Anne Mousso; aunts and uncles, Vincent and Danielle Singe, Thomas and Nancy Sardelli, Mike and Dineen Nemeyer, Pam and Tim Hawkins, David and Sandy Mousso, Paul Mousso, Thomas and Felicia Mousso, and Peter and Adriana Mousso; cousins, David and Christine Singe, Stephanie Singe, Tina Singe, Anthony and Corinne Sardelli, Derek Sardelli, Teddy Nemeyer, Matthew Hawkins, Thomas Hawkins, Joseph Hawkins, Chelsea and Justin Evanicki, Riley Mousso, Marc Mousso, John Mousso, Timothy Mousso, Piper Mousso, Thomas Mousso, Lea Mousso, Damien Mousso, Christian Mousso, Trajan Mousso, Olivia McManus, and Luke McManus; several close friends; and his beloved dog, Ginzo.
