Michael Giovinco

Michael J. Giovinco, 63, passed away unexpectedly on December 15, 2021.

Mike was born on March 8, 1958, a son of the late John Giovinco and Loretta Dote.  He was raised and educated locally, a graduate of UFA.  At one time Michael was married to the late Angela DiBrango Giovinco and from that marriage shared three children. Although Michael and Angela had many trials and tribulations throughout their relationship they always shared a special bond between them.

Mike was an avid sports fan and enjoyed his Sunday football games. He loved the holidays and always looked forward to family gatherings with the kids and grandchildren. Like every Italian man, he loved to cook for his family, because the two most important things are family and food.

He is survived by his three children, Jennifer, Michael and Alyssa also affectionately known as JenLyssMike; Grandchildren, Brian, Ethan, Austin and Vienna; Four Great Grandchildren; Special Cousins Karen, Donna, Gina and Becky; close friends Frank, Jeff, Cliff and Leslie. Michael is predeceased by his parents, former wife Angela DiBrango Giovinco, and his cousin Larry Eichstadt.

Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday, December 21, 4 to 6 p.m., at The Matt Funeral Home, 700 Rutger St., at Mohawk St., Utica. Face masks covering the nose and mouth are required for all attendees.
