Mr. Milton “Sonny” Reeves, 71, passed away unexpectedly at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester on Sunday, June 7, 2020.

Milton was born in Utica, on July 18, 1948, a son of the late Milton and Anna May (Moore) Reeves. He was educated in local schools and a graduate of Utica Free Academy. Milt worked for many years at General Electric and late retired from Chicago Pneumatic. In 2010, he married his longtime girlfriend, Loretta (Smith) Benson, and they have shared over twenty loving years together. Sonny was an avid hunter and fisherman and also enjoyed snowmobiling among his many interests.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Loretta; stepdaughter, Ramona Benson; five grandchildren, Devonte, Kerion, Nalijah, Anaysha and Demari; special grandbabies, Mymy and Little Pop; a Goddaughter, Aishia Mason;  two sisters, May Williams and Margaret Jackson; and also his adopted family, the Walkers, Johnny, Eva, Nathanal, Willie, Diane, Sandra, Eugene, Timmy, Katherine, Micheal, Richard, Christine and Susie where he was always considered a brother, “Number 15”; and also a host of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Jesse Williams; two sisters, Christine Reeves and Elnora Jackson; and a brother, Leroy Walker.

Due to the current health concerns and keeping within CDC guidelines, Sonny’s family will honor him privately and he will be laid to rest with his loved ones at Forest Hill Cemetery. During this challenging time for our country and community, we urge family and friends to leave a message of sympathy online at MattFuneralHome.com which will be a great source of comfort to the family.
