Norine Veronica (Bradley) Gwara, 91, passed away at home, with her loved ones by her side, Friday, November 3, 2023.
Norine was born in Rome, NY, January 10, 1932, a daughter of the late William J. and Helen (Northrup) Bradley. She was raised and worked on the family farm, most of her life, and later, worked for many years at Abelove’s Linen Service.
At one time, Norine was married to the late Chester Stanley Gwara and from that union had her beloved children. She spent many happy years as the fiancé of the late Enos J. Austin.
Norine will always be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother, with a great sense of humor. She was hardworking, loved mowing the lawn, and was always admired for her superior snow-shoveling skills. She enjoyed going to jamborees at the fair, and playing Bingo at Holy Trinity Church and the Casino, but, most of all loved being with her family.
Surviving are her daughter, Mary E. Bradley; son, Robert J. Austin; daughter-in-law, Janet Gwara; grandchildren, Lynn M. Grenicko and Troy Grenicko; great grandchildren, Andy Grenicko, Karlie Grenicko-Haman and Brenden LeBeau; great-great grandchildren, Amarah M. LeBeau and Kyarah B. Lebeau; and also many more grandchildren, including Thomas Alysworth, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many loving friends.
She was predeceased by two sons, Chester Stanley Gwara Jr. and Donald J. Gwara; daughter, Penny Austin; grandson, John Grenicko Jr.; sons-in-law, John Charles Grenicko Sr. and William Exline; brothers, Harry J. Northrup and Charles B. Bradley; sisters and brothers-in-law, Pearl and Ray Hill, and Inez and Douglas Ebensberger.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit and celebrate her life on Thursday, November 9th from 10:30 a.m. to 12 Noon at The Matt Funeral Home, 700 Rutger St., at Mohawk St., Utica. Interment will follow in Crown Hill Memorial Park.
The family would like to offer their heartfelt thanks to her great grandchildren, Karlie and Brenden, for the loving end of life care shown to their grandmother.
