Paul F. (Paolino Francesco) Orilio, age 99, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2016 at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare. He was born in Utica, NY, on August 14, 1916, a son of Ignazio and Maria (DeFiore) Orilio. He was educated in local schools and served in the Civilian Conservation Corps and the US Army during WWII. Paul began to train as a barber when he was eleven years old and worked in the downtown Utica area during his whole career. Always very proud of the fact he was the barber to many local politicians and well-known businessmen, Paul retired after a career of over sixty years. For a time early in his life, Paul also worked at the Hotel Utica. Paul was a member of American Legion Post 579 in Cooperstown. A loving father and grandfather, he is survived by his beloved son and daughter-in-law, John and Nancy Orilio of Hinckley; grandchildren, Capt. Peter Orilio, US Army, and Emily Orilio and her fiancé Ens. Jeffrey Amos, US Navy; one brother, Frank Orilio of FL; seven nephews and one niece, especially acknowledging nephew, Clarke Barre. The family also wishes to acknowledge his friend and roommate at Presbyterian Residential Community, Anthony "Tony" Frank; friends, Mr. & Mrs. Jim Schiavretta, Mr. & Mrs. Bob Williams, Sue and Bill Roberts and family, and also many friends and neighbors at the Steinhorst Square Apartments. He was predeceased by one brother, Rosario "Russell" Orilio. Relatives are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial with Military Honors on Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish. Private interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery. There are no calling hours but the family will greet visitors at the conclusion of Mass. The family would like to offer their thanks to Dr. Steven LaGrant; the staff and caregivers at the Faxton- St. Luke's Healthcare; the Aspen Wing of the Presbyterian Home; and the Presbyterian Residential Community.
