Paula McRorie “OG”, 60, of Utica, passed away after a brief battle with cancer, November 6, 2024, with loving family by her side.
She was born in Utica, March 16, 1964, a daughter of Edward Sr. and Connie (Aceto) Szczygiel. Paula touched the lives of many throughout her journey. She was raised and educated locally and after graduating from Proctor High School, she attended MVCC, where she earned her Associate’s Degree.
Paula is survived by her loving parents, Connie and Edward Sr. of Virginia; her cherished siblings, Chuck McRorie of Syracuse; Tony McRorie (Kelly Rossi) of Verona Beach; Joanne Alberico (Joe) of Virginia; Ronnie Aceto (Deneen) of Tennessee; Kimberly Studebaker (Andrew) of Virginia; Eddy Szczygiel Jr. (Sarah) of Chadwicks; Vanessa McRorie of Utica; and Kevin McRorie of Utica; and a sister-in-law, Mary McRorie of Ohio. She also leaves her closest and dearest friend of over 40 years, Nay Maddox; beloved aunt and traveling companion, Carol Aceto; canine companion of 15 years, Blaze; feline, Auqa; and two very special boys, Jaxson and Dominick. Paula's extended family includes many other loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Cheri, Dawn, Tyra, Vadra, and their children, as well as, the many cherished friends who have been a source of support during this time.
There will be a visitation for Paula on Monday, November 11, 2024, from 5 to 7 p.m., at The Matt Funeral Home, 700 Rutger St., corner of Mohawk St., Utica, with a closing prayer at the end of calling hours. Paula’s entombment will be in Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum at Holy Trinity Cemetery, Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at 10 a.m.
