Philip Gulla Obituary

Philip Anthony Gulla Jr., 46, passed away, after a long illness, on Saturday, June 5, 2021, at MVHS.

Philip was born in New Hartford, NY, a son of Philip Gulla Sr. and Luanne (Spoto) Talerico. He was raised and educated in Marcy and Whitesboro and was a graduate of Whitesboro High School.

At the age of 14, with the automotive business in his blood, Philip took an interest in the Automotive Body Industry. He attended many auto repair clinics, learning all aspects of auto body repair and painting; and he excelled at both. He worked in the family business, Beacon Body Shop, for many years.

At one time, Philip was married to the former Roseanna Pion and from that marriage had his adored daughter, Brooklyn.

An avid bass fisherman, Philip was accomplished and well regarded in the fishing community as an expert. Some of the best times of his life were spent on the water with his uncles, cousins and friends. A devoted football fan, Phil was also a diehard Patriots fan.

He is survived by his beloved daughter, Brooklyn Gulla; his mother, who adored him with all her heart and lovingly cared for him, Luanne Talerico and step-father, John; his father, Mr. & Mrs. Philip Gulla Sr.; his brother, Frank Dominick Gulla and his wife, Nicole; a special aunt, Michele Gulla and her partner, Mike; aunts and uncles, Rick Gulla, Marie Godlin and Alan and Laura Spoto; special cousins, Bob Gulla, Eric Stewart, Debbie Jadhon, Michele Lyon, Tara Stephen, Tom Alster, Andrea Spina and Jennifer D’ Ambrogio; and also many friends in the fishing community and his outdoor buddies, John “George” Maseroti, Chris Shepherd, Jimbo; and his feline love “Binx”. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Alfonse and Marie Spoto and Elizabeth “Bessie” and Hank Gulla, an uncle, Michael Bruzzese and a very special uncle, who was like a father to him, Frank Bruzzese.
