New York Mills: Mrs. Philomena Lynch, 86, passed away with her loved ones by her side on Wednesday, July 22, 2020, at St. Luke’s Hospital of MVHC.
Philomena was born in Utica, on Christmas Day, December 25, 1933, a daughter of the late Frank and Rose (LaPorte) Caputo. She was raised and educated in local schools. At one time, Philomena was married to Edward C. Lynch, and from that union had her beloved children. Philomena was employed for many years as a machinist at Mele Manufacturing.
Our mom will always be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother, who loved to bake and cook for her family and whose meatballs will be especially missed. She could spend hours shopping and really loved the Dollar Store. She also loved her TV shows and never missed Wheel of Fortune.
She is survived by her three beloved sons and two daughters-in-law, Michael Lynch, Mark and Kim Lynch and Matthew and Staci (Bowman) Lynch; beloved grandchildren, Mark and Julian Lynch and Matthew Lynch Jr.; one brother and sister-in-law, Daniel and Nancy Caputo; a sister-in-law, Mary Anne Caputo; special cousin, Mary Lourdes Cirasuolo; and also several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her brother, Raymond Caputo.
In keeping with her wishes, Philomena’s family will honor her at a private time and she will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery. During these challenging times in our country and community, messages of sympathy online are a great source of comfort to the family.
