Phyllis (Conte) Gigliotti, 89, passed away peacefully, in the comfort of her own home, Tuesday, April 1, 2025.
Phyllis was born in Utica, March 20, 1936, a daughter of the late Senatro and Mary Rose Conte. She was raised and educated locally and a graduate of T.R. Proctor High School. On September 14, 1957, Phyllis was joined in marriage to Thomas Gigliotti, with whom she spent over 65 years of loving marriage until Tom’s passing, in 2024. She will be happy to be back with her beloved husband in heaven.
In her youthful years, Phyllis enjoyed bowling and tennis. She was a devout Catholic and a lifelong communicant of Historic Old St. John’s Church. She was a loving and devoted mother and friend to her children and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her children, Thomas and Lori Gigliotti, Elizabeth Gigliotti, and Jacqueline Gigliotti and Brian Hoffman; grandchildren, Nicholas and Christina Gigliotti, Gabby Gigliotti and Bradley Smertz, Jessica and Bryan Fafaul, Maggie and Chris Robledo, and Steven Cross; great-grandchildren, Delilah, Mikayla, Franklin, Sage, and River; brother, Frank Conte; brother-in-law, Ronald Gigliotti Sr.; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Phyllis was predeceased by her beloved husband, Thomas Gigliotti Sr.; brother and sisters in law, Rocco and Ruth Conte, and Jeanette Conte; sister and brother in laws, Rose and Mark Petronella, Louis Gigliotti, and John Gigliotti.
Phyllis’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at 10 a.m., at Historic Old St. John’s Church, in Utica. There will be no calling hours. Private interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery with her beloved husband.
The family would like to thank Sharon Stevens for her compassionate care and loving friendship to Phyllis during her later years.
