Mrs. Rae Ann (Whorley) Pisano, 73, passed away, with her loved ones by her side, after a long illness, Sunday, August 13, 2023, at MVHS, St. Luke’s Campus.
Rae Ann was born in Utica, June 19, 1950, and was raised by her mother, Laura Martello Whorley. She was educated at Mt. Carmel Schools and a graduate of TR Proctor High School.
On August 8, 1970, Rae Ann was joined in marriage to Lawrence G. “Larry” Pisano. Larry and Rae Ann have enjoyed a close and loving marriage and just celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary.
Rae Ann was employed for many years with attorney, William Schmidt, in the collection business and eventually took over the William A. Schmidt Agency; running it for over twenty years.
A very creative person, Rae Ann was an exceptional cook and baker and you could always count on something special coming from her kitchen, especially her pies. An avid shopper, she always enjoyed looking for a good deal.
A loving wife and sister, Rae Ann is survived by her husband, Larry; her sister and two brothers-in-law, Phyllis and Dennis Philipkoski,and Salvatore “Sam” Fanelli; her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Rockie Napoli and Michael Pisano and his girlfriend, Donna Caruso; and also many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mom, Laura Whorley; sister, Lorraine Fanelli; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Larry and Margaret Pisano; and brothers-in-law, John Pisano and Alfonse “Snookie” Napoli.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Memorial Mass of Christian Burial, Friday, August 18, at 10 a.m., at Historic Old St. Johns Church. The family will greet visitors in church prior to mass from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.
The family would like to offer their heartfelt thanks to the staff of St. Luke’s Hospital for the outstanding and loving care shown to Rae Ann and her family during her illness.
