Robert S. Williamson Jr.

Robert S. Williamson Jr., 72,  passed away, at his home, with his loving family by his side, Friday, April 1, 2022.

Robert was born in Utica, November 5, 1949, a son of the late Robert S. Sr. and Florence (Kimball) Williamson. He was raised in Oriskany Falls and attended VVS schools. He proudly served in the US Army, as a SGT, where he served two tours in the Vietnam War. He received several medals, including the Bronze Star and the Vietnam Campaign medal.

Robert was joined in marriage to Deborah J. Talerico, June 12, 1982, and they have shared forty loving years together.

Robert was employed, as a welder, at Bossert Manufacturing, for many years; and also Albany Ladder, where he helped to construct the Walmart Distribution Centers. Not one to sit idle, he more recently worked along with his kids at Minit Car Wash.

Bob was an avid reader and in earlier years loved to go fishing. He loved fast cars and was a NASCAR fan, especially devoted to Richard Petty #43.

Above all else, he adored his family and was a loving husband, father, and Poppa, and will be forever missed.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Deborah; his children, four sons, Robert Williamson III, Sean Williamson, Kevin Williamson, and Shane Williamson and his fiancé, Jessica Bronson, one daughter and son-in-law, Vanessa and Sean LaPointe; adored grandchildren, Marissa, Nina, and Nikko Williamson, Alexus Williamson, Mackenzie Bronson, and Angelina LaPointe; his sister, Joan Falin; brother, Kenneth Williamson; and also many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Keith Williamson, who was always in his heart; his parents, Robert and Florence; and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Carl and Patricia Talerico.

Relatives and friends may call on Monday, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at The Matt Funeral Home, 700 Rutger St., corner of  Mohawk St., Utica.

A final blessing offered by Father James Cesta, and military honors will be held at 1 p.m. with interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.

The family would like to offer their thanks to Dr. Angelina Nitto and the caregivers of Hospice, for the loving care shown to Bob during his illness.
