Mrs. Rose Mary (Grosso) Paciello, 99, passed away peacefully, with her loving family by her side, on Thursday, December 16, 2021, at the St. Luke’s Home.
Rose was born in Utica, June 5, 1922, a daughter of the late Pasquale and Mary (Commisso) Grosso. She was educated in local schools. On December 9, 1941, Rose was joined in marriage to Pasquale “Al” Paciello. They shared a very loving marriage of over sixty years, until her beloved Al passed away, on May 24, 2002.
Their life revolved around the family and Rose especially loved cooking and entertaining in their home, where you never left hungry.
She is survived by her two beloved sons and daughters-in-law, Samuel and Veronica Paciello, and Steven and Cathleen Paciello; grandchildren, Samuel Jr. and Amy Paciello, and Melissa Paciello; step-grandchildren, Shannon Guilmet, Rachelle Bushnell, and Deron Biechele; great grandchildren, Natasha, Alexander, and Nicholas Paciello, and Dominic Codero; many nieces, nephews, and cousins, especially nieces, Rosemary Arcuri and Donna DeRosa, and cousins, Dolores Bremer and Jeanette Commisso; and also special family friends and neighbors, the Jones family. She was predeceased by two brothers, Rocco and Anthony Grosso; and one sister, Cora DeRosa.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, at 10 a.m., at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish, 648 Jay St., Utica. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call on Sunday, 4 to 6 p.m., at The Matt Funeral Home, 700 Rutger St., at Mohawk St., Utica.
Face masks covering the nose and mouth are required for all attendees, at the funeral home and the church, in accordance with state and county guidelines.
