Salvatore Arcuri

Salvatore J. Arcuri, 87, of Sebastian, FL, passed away, with his loved ones by his side, Monday, August 5, 2024.

Sal was born in Utica, May 11, 1937, a son of the late Bruno and Mary (Cavaretta) Arcuri. He was raised in Utica and educated in local schools.

Following high school, Sal served our country in the US Army, in active duty, as well as, in the reserves. On May 9, 1959, Sal was united in marriage to the former Barbara Ann Farda. Sal and Barbara shared over 36 loving years of marriage living and raising their family in Utica. His beloved Barbara passed away on September 21, 1995.

A talented painter and wall paper hanger, Sal was self-employed in the Utica area and well respected by local contractors and his many customers. He was a proud member of the local Painters Union. Before retiring to Florida, Sal loved working in the garden, always enjoyed a good card game with his friends, and was active at the Sons of Italy.

He is survived by his beloved daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and Sean Becker, and Robin and Richard “Rick” Jones; grandchildren, Rachel Becker, Barbara Jones, and Rhys Jones; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Jane and Angelo Faga, and Carol and Peter Arcuri; sisters-in-law, Jenny Stabile, Eileen Arcuri, and Jackie Arcuri; brother-in-law, Robert Farda; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends, Diane Bonanza, Nancy and Tony Corelli, and Victor and Vicki Castronovo. He was predeceased by his brothers, Albert Stabile, Fred Arcuri, and Anthony Arcuri; sisters and brothers-in-law, Theresa and Floyd Carvelli, and Rose and Tony Foglietta; and his in-laws Ida and Sebastian Farda.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish on Thursday, August 15, 2024 at 10 am. The family will greet visitors following mass. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
