Samuel “Sam” A. DiMambro, passed away peacefully, at The Pines of Utica, on October 8, 2023.
Sam was born in Utica, October 5, 1947, a son of the late Vincent DiMambro Sr. and Margaret (Testa) DiMambro and was raised and educated locally. Sam was once joined in marriage to Sharon Lawler, with whom he shared two children.
Sam could best be described by the statement “He was Sam”. Sam was a unique man, who was a big movie buff; he enjoyed horror films, comedies, and Bruce Lee movies. He was into rock music, throughout his life, and especially enjoyed Jimi Hendrix and James Brown.
He is survived by his mother, Maggie; daughter, Amanda DiMambro and Aaron Goings; brother, Vincent Jr. “Jimi” DiMambro; brother-in-law, Mark Ritter; nieces and nephews, Jennifer and Brian Whitford, Marcus and Tracy Ritter, Todd Ritter, and Vincent “Vini” DiMambro III; and many great nieces and nephews. Sam was predeceased by his daughter, Sharon DiMambro; father, Vincent DiMambro Sr.; and sister, Shirley Ann Ritter.
All are welcome to celebrate Sam’s life, with his family, Tuesday, October 17, 4 to 6 p.m., at The Matt Funeral Home, 700 Rutger St., at Mohawk St.,Utica. A prayer service will be held at the conclusion of calling hours.
