Sandra Sgroi

Sandra Victoria Sgroi, 77, passed away peacefully, on December 29, 2020, at the St. Luke’s Home in New Hartford, NY.

Sandra was born in Utica, April 17, 1943, the daughter of the late Nicholas and Anne Marie (Carlesimo) Sgroi. She attended local schools and was a graduate of TR Proctor High School. She later attended the Worseka Dress Making School, in Buffalo.

A talented seamstress, Sandy worked for Del Buono’s Bridal Shop and Mr. Jay’s Bridal Shop, for many years. Sandy also worked out of her own home, altering and sewing for her many clients and friends. She was devoted communicant of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church, where she served as an usher, was a member of its Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Society and also the St. Anne Society.

She is survived by her two brothers and sisters-in-law, Nicholas and Colleen Sgroi, of AZ and Bob and Lettie Sgroi, of VA; and also many beloved nieces and nephews.

Sandy’s family will honor her privately and per her final wishes she will be laid to rest with her parents in Calvary Mausoleum.
