Sharon A. LaPaglia

Mrs. Sharon A. LaPaglia, 71, passed away surrounded by the love of her family on Tuesday, February 23, 2016, at the St. Luke's Home. Sharon was born in Utica on February 17, 1945, a daughter of the late Rocco and Margaret "Peggy" (Reynolds) LaPaglia. She was educated in local schools and a graduate of T.R. Proctor High School. A dedicated mom and grandmother, Sharon spent her life caring for her eight children and many grandchildren. She is survived by her beloved children, Kimberly and John, Marlene and Mike, Rocco and Wanda, Al and Monica, Cyndi, Patty and Ron, and Pam; many-many grandchildren and great grandchildren; her siblings, Fran and Glen Roberts, Marlene and Mike Hobaica, and Rocco LaPaglia; two special friends, Ralph and Marcia; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. A service celebrating Sharon's life will be held on Thursday at 6 p.m. at The Matt Funeral Home, 700 Rutger St., at Mohawk St., Utica, with a visitation prior to the service from 4 to 6 p.m. Private interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff of the St. Luke's Home for the care and compassion shown to Sharon and her family during her illness.
