Mrs. Sheila E. (Acey) Tutino, passed away peacefully and was reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, James, on May 2, 2025.
Sheila was born in Utica, February 19, 1943, a daughter of the late Maroun and Arlene (Tubbs) Acey. She was raised and educated in Utica. On October 19, 1959, Sheila was joined in marriage to James Tutino, with whom she shared over fifty-six loving years until James passed away in 2016. Sheila was employed with Sears Roebuck and Co., for over thirty-five years in the catalog department and later in loss prevention.
Sheila was a loving mother and grandmother, who loved to cook for her family. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, especially trips to Cape Cod and Cape Vincent with the kids. She was a traditional hockey mom, lugging her boys around to all their games and tournaments. Her sons fondly remember their mother trekking hours away in snowstorms to get them each to their games as they played in different locations. She also enjoyed attending her grandchildren's sporting events. Sheila was an avid sports fan of all New York teams, but, especially rooted for the New York Yankees, New York Giants, and Syracuse basketball and football.
Sheila is survived by her two sons, Anthony Tutino and his girlfriend, Ellen Robertelli of Utica, and Vincent and Roseann (D’Ambro) Tutino of Marcy; granddaughters, Samantha and Jeremy McDonald, Ashley Tutino, and Jessica Tutino; grandsons, Vincent Jr. and Lindsey (Hoy) Tutino, Nicholas and Amanda (Bielby) Tutino, and Matthew and Karissa (Yankowski) Tutino; great grandchildren, Lincoln Anthony McDonald, Eleanor Lynn McDonald, Matthew James Tutino, Viviana Rae Tutino, Jayce Phillip Tutino, Luca Vincent Tutino, Olivia Lindsey Tutino, and Liara Rose Tutino; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Francis and Barbara Mandia, and Sharon Bateman; and also many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, James Tutino; grandson, Michael Vincent Tutino; brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Mary Acey; infant brother, Gary Maroun Acey; in-laws, Anthony and Jean Tutino; and brother-in-law, Roger Bateman. Sheila was also predeceased by her beloved canine companions “Babe” and “Ricky”.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, 4 to 6 p.m., at the Matt Funeral Home, 700 Rutger St., corner of Mohawk St., in Utica. There will be a prayer service at the conclusion of calling hours with Abouna Boutros El Hachem, officiating. Private interment will be in Calvary Cemetery with her beloved husband.
