Shirley Miller

Ms. Shirley Miller, 66, of Utica, passed away on December 23, 2025 with family and friends by her side.

Shirley was born March 25, 1959, in West Plains, Missouri. She was a 1977 graduate of New Hartford High School and after high school graduation, took some college courses.

A very passionate person and loyal friend, Shirley had a fondness for animals, especially her cats and her beloved dog “Gus”. She loved working as a waitress, with the Karam family, at the Phoenician Restaurant and especially enjoyed working with her best friend, Theresa.

A person blessed with a great sense of humor, she was a tremendous friend and phenomenal mom.

She is survived by her son, Samuel Miller; sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Joseph Schnell; brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Debbie Miller; nephew, Joseph Schnell; and the members of the Karam family.

Shirley’s family have honored her privately at this time. In her memory, please consider a donation to the Abraham House, which always held a special place in her heart because of the care they showed to her late great aunt Diane L. Knight.

The family would like to thank the staff at Wynn Hospital for all their care and compassion during this difficult time. Also the family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Anwar Wassel for his long term and professional care.
