Shirley Ann Ritter

Shirley Ann Ritter, the lady with the heart of gold, went home to be with the Lord on May 17, 2016, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease and dementia. Shirley was born on March 23, 1950 to Vincent and Margaret (Testa) DiMambro. She was a graduate of T.R. Proctor High School. Shirley worked for many years at Discount Hobby in sales. She loved to dance - as a child her family called her "Tina the Ballerina". In 2012, Shirley participated in the Walk to End Alzheimer's Disease; and this year seven members of her family walked for her. She is survived by husband, Mark; son and daughter-in-law, Marcus and Tracey Ritter; son, Todd Ritter; mother, Maggie; brothers, Samuel and Vincent Jr.; six beloved grandchildren with one on the way; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Shirley also leaves behind her cousin, Theresa (Saponaro) Planty, with whom she shared a special bond since childhood. Shirley's funeral service will be held on Friday, July 29, 2016 at St. Joseph & St. Patrick Church, Utica. She will be laid to rest with her beloved father, Vincent "Jimmy" DiMambro at Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements are with The Matt Funeral Home, Utica. The family wishes to thank the Presbyterian Home staff for caring for Shirley the past ten months.
