Silvio Petrunti, 79, passed away, January 20, 2024, at the Wynn Hospital in Utica.
Silvio was born in Utica, May 5, 1944, a son of the late Mario and Angeline (Coria) Petrunti. He was raised and educated locally attending Brandagee and Seymour Schools. Silvio was employed as a security guard, for LB security, where he worked as the first school crossing guard in Utica.
A food lover, Silvio always enjoyed a good meal. He enjoyed trying new cuisines and especially loved cookies. He knew the importance of family and held his sister and niece close to his heart. Silvio had strong beliefs about family and always had faith in God. He enjoyed watching wrestling and all the old time classic shows.
Silvio is survived by his niece, Theresa Angeline Wasilewski; his caretakers, Crystal and Jeffrey March; and several cousins. He was predeceased by his sister, Jean Marie Petrunti; their beloved cat, a beautiful Siamese named Prince. Silvio nicknamed him, “Frank Sinatra” because of his beautiful ocean blue eyes; and cousins, Dale and Kathy Coria.
Silvio was honored privately and will be laid to rest, in the spring, with his parents and sister, in Calvary Cemetery, in Utica.
A special thank you to Crystal and Jeff March, Crystal’s mother, Katherine, his caretakers and close family friends for the care shown to Sylvio, as well as, his niece Theresa’s father, Matthew Wasilewski
Arrangements are with Matt Funeral Home, Utica, NY.
