Stanley Alton Bell passed away peacefully on May 1, 2021, at his residence, after a brief illness.
Stanley was born in Brooklyn, NY, July 4, 1953, to the late Alexander and Henrietta (Leonard) Bell. He moved to Utica in 1989, and resided at Upstate Cerebral Palsy’s Edward Kilbane house.
He attended Upstate Cerebral Palsy’s Barneveld Day program from 1989, until his retirement in 2009. He liked to watch various television shows and movies, make arts and crafts, and listen to music. He loved the holidays, with Christmas being his favorite. He enjoyed taking rides to see the Christmas lights around town, decorating the tree and listening to the Christmas carols. His smile and laugh lit up the room around him.
He will be missed by his family, the friends that he has made over the years at the Barneveld Day Program and Kilbane ICF, his staff, as well as, his Consumer Advisory Board Representative, and Prime Care Coordination Care Manager.
Stanley is survived by his sister-in-law, Renee Bell; his nephews, Alexander Bell III and Luke Bell; and his niece, Henrietta Bell. He was predeceased by his parents, Alexander and Henrietta Bell; and his brother, Alexander Bell II.
His funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m., at The Matt Funeral Home, 700 Rutger St., corner of Mohawk St., Utica. Private interment will take place in Prospect Cemetery.
