Theresa (Ciufo) Antone

Theresa R. (Ciufo) Antone, 93, a lifelong Utica resident, passed away peacefully at her home, Friday, September 5, 2025.

Theresa was born in Utica, May 24, 1932, a daughter of the late Anthony and Mary (Garfola) Ciufo. She was educated in local schools and later attended the Utica School of Beauty. Theresa worked as a hairdresser and managed the Cut & Curl, in Whitesboro, for many years. On April 26, 1952, Theresa was joined in marriage to Ralph A. Antone Sr., a loving union they shared for over fifty years.

A woman of deep faith, Theresa was very devoted to her church, St. Anthony of Padua, in Utica, where she attended weekly mass and was involved in many church activities, especially during the church festivals. Sundays and holidays were always special to Theresa; breakfast with her friends and family after church and later cooking and baking for them. She was a great cook and you never left her home hungry. She loved caring for her family, especially her beloved Ralph, who passed away December 3, 2002.

Theresa was a longtime member of the Ladie’s Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus and loved doing crafts and making cherished items for her family and friends. Truly a sweet woman, she will be forever missed.

Surviving is her daughter, Patricia Kohlbrenner; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ralph Jr. and Gwen Antone, of Columbus, OH, and Anthony and Gina Antone; beloved grandchildren, Rainer and Kristie Kohlbrenner, Michael and Nicole Kohlbrenner, Daniel and Aaron Antone, Anthony Antone, Stephen Antone, David Antone and Maddie Austin; great grandchildren, Andrew Kohlbrenner, Raina Kohlbrenner, and Sophie Kohlbrenner; sister and brother-in-law, Lucille and Vincent Chapman; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was predeceased by her son-in-law, Rainer Kohlbrenner; brother, Alexander Ciufo; sister and brother-in-law, Celia and Thomas Stoio; and her in-laws, Peter and Josephine Tomaino, Edith and Benny Rotundo, Rose and Joseph D’Amielo, Angelo and Agnes Antone, and Antoinette Yacovella.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial, Friday, September 12, 2025, at 10 a.m., at St. Anthony & St. Agnes Church. Interment beside her beloved husband will be in Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the conclusion of mass.
