Thomas Benjamin Obituary

Mr. Thomas Levi Benjamin, 52, passed away as the result of a motor vehicle accident, on Tuesday, February 2, 2021.

Thomas was born in New Hartford, January 26, 1969, a son of Harriet (O’Dell) Benjamin and the late James Benjamin. He graduated from Mt. Markham High School and continued his education at MVCC and SUNY IT, graduating with a BA in Accounting.

On April 29, 1995, he married the former Charlene Papelino.

He began his work career in high school, when he gained employment at the Yahnundasis Golf Club, where he started as a dishwasher and worked his way up the ladder to an accountant position in the office. At the time of his death, Tom was employed as the Director of Business Operations at Andro Computational Solutions.

A huge Viking fan, Tom so much enjoyed watching football games with his two sons and spending time with them whenever possible. He looked forward to and treasured yearly vacations and cruises with his family, which created lasting memories for his children. He was known for his special Holiday Prime Rib Dinner, held every New Year’s Eve.

He is survived by his wife, Charlene; two sons, Matthew and Luke; mother, Harriet; in-laws, Charles and Annette Papelino; four siblings, Dr. Rich and Becky Benjamin, Dave Benjamin, Mary and Larry Perkins, and Susan and George Meadows; and in-laws, Jeannine (Papelino) and Dr. Keith Johnson; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, James; and his brother, James Jr.
