Thomas J. Carcone Jr., 57, passed away unexpectedly, with his loving family by his side, Thursday, September 21, 2023, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center.
Thomas was born in Utica, August 21, 1966, a son of Thomas Carcone Sr. and the late Carmella (Dare) Carcone. He was raised and educated locally. Thomas worked two jobs since he began his work career, he was employed at the Municipal Housing Authorities for over thirty years and the Masonic Home for twenty five years, a generous supporter for his family, he retired in 2016.
Tom was recently married to Francia Solero, although it was a brief union, it brought him much happiness.
A caring and creative man, Thomas was a jack-of-all-trades. He enjoyed building and working in the barn, with his son, who was his whole heart. He liked to go fishing, was a passionate gun collector, and enjoyed working on small engines and classic cars especially, Chevelles. He was a fun loving jokester who loved to make people laugh and had a special love for his canine companions, Bailey, Sierra and Bella.
He is survived by his son, Nicholas Carcone; father, Thomas Carcone Sr.; siblings, Katherine and David Buffa, Camille Carcone Jeffers, Frank and Donna Carcone, and Theresa Carcone; cherished nieces and nephews who looked up to him, Richard Carcone, Joshua Carcone, Tiffany Carcone, Stephanie Carcone-Jeffers, and Michael Peppenelli. He was predeceased by his mother, Carmella (Dare) Carcone; and brother-in-law, Richard Jeffers.
Thomas’ visitation will be held on Saturday, September 30, from 4 to 6 pm at the Matt Funeral Home, corner of Mohawk and Rutger Sts., Utica. There will be a prayer service at the conclusion of calling hours with Rev.Thomas Servatius, officiating.
