Mr. Thomas A. Trinco, 91, passed away, with his loving family by his side, on Thursday, July 22, 2021, at the St. Luke’s Campus of the MVHS.
Born in Utica, July 6, 1930, Tommy was a son of the late Bruno and Josephine (Gentile) Trinco. He was educated in local schools and a 1950 graduate of T.R. Proctor High School. From 1948 to 1954, Tom proudly served our country in the US Army and was discharged at the rank of Sergeant.
On May 24, 1958, he was joined in marriage to the former Carol Ann Beasman. Tom and Carol have shared over sixty-three loving years of marriage, devoted to each other in every way.
Tom was employed for many years as a Supply Inspector at Griffiss Air Force Base, and later as a Letter Carrier, then with Personnel Management and finally Manager of Safety and Health for the US Post Office, in Utica, retiring in 1989.
Following retirement, Tom worked as a Special Education Teacher’s Assistant at T.R. Proctor High School and was a part-time employee at the Clark Athletic Building at Utica College.
Never one to be idle, Tom was an avid runner and very proud of running two marathons, the Marine Corps Marathon and the NYC Marathon. He was a longtime member of the YMCA, Planet Fitness, National Association of Letter Carriers, National Association of Postal Supervisors, Service Employee International Union for Utica Schools and was a Football Official and member of the Mohawk Valley Chapter of Certified Football Officials.
A loving husband, father and grandfather, Tom is survived by his loving wife, Carol; son and daughter-in-law, Thomas Jr. and Jennifer Trinco, of Evergreen, CO; daughter and son-in-law, Deanna and Scott Risucci, of Deerfield; adored grandchildren, Josephine Anne Trinco, Genna Lyn Risucci and fiancé Joseph Cincogrono, Carissa Rae and Bryan Guzski, and Domenica Nicole Risucci; brother and sister-in-law, Dominick and Marie Trinco; sister-in-law, Florence “Joppy” Basile; and also many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his infant son, David Paul Trinco in 1962; sister, Veronica Centolella Schram; father-in-law, Charles Beasman; mother-in-law, Fannie (Primarolo) Basile-Beasman; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Loretta Trinco, Vito and Beverly Basile, and Pasquale “Patty” Basile.
His funeral with Military Honors will be held on Monday, at 11 a.m., at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish with interment in Calvary Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call on Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m., at The Matt Funeral Home, 700 Rutger St., corner of Mohawk St., Utica.
