Warren "Bucky" Angell Obituary

Warren “Bucky” Angell, 80, passed away peacefully, Thursday, January 6, 2022, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center.

Bucky was born in New Berlin, NY, October 15, 1941, a son of the late Arthur and Myrtle (Kane) Angell. He was educated in VanHornsville, Leonardsville, and Richfield Springs schools.

Stricken with polio at a young age, Bucky never let it stop him from doing what he wanted to do. Always the worker, at one time, he was employed at Roemer’s Gas Station, on Culver Ave., and Beunit Fibers. For the past many years, he was an Avon Representative and loved to help out at the Marrlogg Restaurant, where he must have cracked over five million eggs. During the summer months, he was a pyro-technician for American Fireworks, a job he really enjoyed, “Yeah, Yeah, Yeah”.

Bucky also enjoyed hanging out at Dave’s Diner, the Boulevard Diner, Dari-Del, Top of the Morning, and the many craft shows in the area, where he always had a posse of beautiful woman that he adored.

Bucky loved anything country, especially old western movies, and enjoyed nothing more than dressing in his signature country outfits and posing for pictures with his female admirers; “Eat your Heart out”. His one line jokes that only he got, accented with his signature laugh will be missed.

Bucky leaves a sister, Mary Lou Hutchings; and several nieces, nephews, and many dear friends, especially, Donna Mutolo and Sally Whitaker, who were always there for him; and also special mention of John Marraffa and David Paratore. He was predeceased by brothers, Ronald Angell and Charles Angell; and sisters, Sarah Preston, Helen Tuckey, Ruth Angell, and Margaret Angell.

Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects to Bucky on Thursday, 5 to 6 p.m., at The Matt Funeral Home, 700 Rutger St., at Mohawk St., Utica.

In honor of Bucky, please take time to watch the Utica fireworks this 4th of July and he will be there in a truly spectacular display.

In his memory, please consider donations to St. Jude Research Hospital at stjude.org
