William Rehm Obituary

William Ronald Rehm, 85, passed away after a short illness, on Thursday, December 31, 2020, at Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare of the MVHS.

William was born in Utica, May 24, 1935, a son of the late William Ronald and Pearl (Rushlow) Rehm. He was educated in local schools, graduating from T.R. Proctor High School in 1953. Mr. Rehm proudly served our country in the US Army, in Korea, until he was honorably discharged in 1957.

On September 12, 1970, Bill married the former Marian Lawler Lesniak, and the couple was devoted to each other until Marian’s passing on February 16, 2019.

Bill worked as a Body and Fender man at Beacon Body Shop in Utica, with longtime friend, Phil Gulla.

Bill was our father, brother, grandfather, and friend, who was a special man, always willing to help anyone and was loved and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Bill is survived by his sisters and a brother-in-law, Sharon Knapp, Dawn Kealy, and Patricia and Anthony Viti; daughter and son-in-law, Virginia and Floyd Smith; two sons and a daughter-in-law, William Nunes and Kenneth and Dawn Rehm; daughter, Kathy Rehm, with whom he resided; and son, Donald Rehm. He dearly loved Toby and Heather Tobin and family and Kenneth and Lonna Wilcox and family. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren, with whom he recently was able to meet and enjoy time together; and many beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was so proud of them all and was so happy to have had the time they spent with him.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Marian; brothers, Earl Lee and Jack Rehm; daughters, Donna Jean Johnston and Patricia Pearl Jackowski; granddaughter, Debra Ann Bayer; grandson, William Wayne Lawler; and great grandson, Antonio Curtis.

Bill has requested that all services be held privately. During these trying times, messages of sympathy on our website are of great comfort to the family.
